1Spatial joins Open Data Institute member network

20 July 2018

1Spatial joins the Open Data Institute (ODI) members network.

As geospatial, or location, data becomes increasingly important in decision-making, organisations are under increasing pressure to manage, publish and share authoritative, current information that is always ready for interrogation. 1Spatial’s innovative, open rules-based approach improves organisations’ data infrastructures by turning expert knowledge into automated, repeatable rules. Critical data management tasks become predictable routines and data is always fit for purpose.

Claire Milverton, CEO of 1Spatial says, “Data, and especially geospatial data, is an important asset for society and economies. As the volume of available data increases, so does its potential to drive better decision-making. But, to achieve this, trustworthy data infrastructures must be efficient and effective. We are proud to become a member of the ODI network and look forward to being an active part of its community and supporting its important work.”

Jeni Tennison, CEO of the Open Data Institute, says, “Geospatial data is instrumental to our national and international data infrastructure - enabling the development of tools and services that not only help us get from A to B but understand the world we live in. 1Spatial’s membership of ODI is especially timely following the opening of more national mapping data by Ordnance Survey and our innovation project looking at how to unlock the potential of open geospatial data. It's great to welcome geospatial specialists to our members network.”
