Lockheed Martin submitted its proposal to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to design and build the spacecraft for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite – Series R (GOES-R), the next generation geostationary environmental satellites for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
