senseFly’s global service network, Drone Connector

19 September 2015

senseFly’s global service network, Drone Connector, now features over 700 professional drone operators, connecting these operators with organisations that require their help to produce geo-referenced imagery and data products.

Created just six months ago, the Drone Connector network spans over 90 countries right around the globe. Operators provide services across fields as diverse as land surveying, agriculture, GIS, mining and more.

senseFly drone operators can apply to join the Drone Connector operator network, for free. Each application is then carefully assessed by the Drone Connector team to confirm that the applicant offers an appropriate level of drone and industry experience. End users looking to connect with experienced drone operators meanwhile can simply log on to the Drone Connector website to submit a project request. Drone Connector then searches its database of providers to identify the local operators best suited to the job, sharing the project request with these parties to gauge their interest.

Once an interested operator shortlist has been confirmed, Drone Connector’s team sends profiles of these operators directly to the end user. All subsequent procurement decisions are then the responsibility of the client, with future client/operator communications handled direct.

Drone Connector is a free global service for customers of the Swiss professional drone manufacturer senseFly. senseFly advises all Drone Connector operators to ensure they are up-to-date with the legal regulations applicable to their country. In the U.S. for example, the senseFly team supports and assists with customers’ Section 333 exemption applications for free. Additionally, senseFly recently finalised the implementation of a new Drone Connector check that only qualifies U.S. operators that have been granted a Section 333 exemption to receive new project requests.
