As detailed planning gets under way for Britain’s new high speed rail network HS2 Ltd turned to Blom to survey the UK’s largest ever infrastructure project.
Despite challenging conditions three towns in Greenland have been successfully captured as part of a photographic aerial survey project by European survey specialist Blom.
Blom will acquire and process laser data for the Italian national transmission network manager, Terna.
Red Eléctrica de España, S.A. (REE), the sole transmission and electricity system operator in Spain, has chosen Blom to assist with its plans to improve powerline engineering and maintenance operations. REE employs 1,800 people and had revenues exceeding 1.6 billion euro in 2011. The company’s transmission grid is composed of more than 40,100 kilometres of powerlines.
Blom’s Italian-French subsidiary has signed a contract with the Finistère Department and the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur Region to map and monitor stretches of the Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline in France.
During the summer Blom captured a pilot project for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA).
European mapping specialist Blom have completed a further aerial survey for Bristol Water. Following the success of the first aerial survey for Bristol Water in 2011, Blom were commissioned to provide further aerial survey services for a second water main project near Frome, Somerset.
Blom has signed a contract to deliver technical assistance for the “Extension and rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure in Hunedoara County, Romania”. The expected value of the agreement is approximately €3M and will start in 2012, lasting for an estimated period of 43 months.
Blom has a longstanding history assisting Government Agencies and Local Authorities in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, flooding, landslides and wildfires.
